Treatment Approach
I provide scientifically supported treatments to help you alleviate suffering, enhance your relationships, and enrich your life. I am fortunate to have training in a variety of treatment techniques including insight-oriented therapy, dialectical-behavioral therapy, and cognitive behavioral techniques. To help you better understand what these treatment modalities entail, I have provided readings in the "Links" section at the top of my website.
Therapy involves creating goals to change problematic aspects of our lives while also learning to accept things that are outside of our control. I strive to promote an atmosphere of exploration and curiosity to help you learn about yourself and help you identify what you want out of therapy and ultimately out of life. I will help you learn how to tolerate and healthily manage difficult, painful feelings, and We will identify and strive to change behavioral patterns that are causing problems in your life (e.g., unhealthy patterns in relationships, emotional eating, impulsive behaviors such as substance use). Despite my general common approach to treatment, no two clients are the same, and I will tailor my therapeutic approach to fit your individual and unique needs and experiences. It is my firm belief that therapy is most effective when approached as a collaboration between therapist and client.
